Terms of Service
What you can expect from us, and what we expect from you. Written to be read, not to be survived.
Effective August 11, 2026Last updated August 11, 2026
01The agreement
Using the site means you accept these terms. If you do not, do not use it.
These terms are between you and The Mix Medic, operated by Eric Erickson (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. If you are using The Mix Medic for a company, you confirm you are allowed to agree on its behalf.
You must be at least 13 years old to hold an account. If you are under 18, you need a parent or guardian’s permission.
02What the service does
You upload audio, our engine masters it, you download the result. We do not put a human in the loop.
The Mix Medic is an automated audio mastering service. You upload a mix, the engine analyses and processes it, and you download a mastered file. Processing is entirely automated - no engineer listens to your music as part of delivering a master.
Mastering is a matter of taste as well as measurement. We make no promise that a given master will suit your song, satisfy a label, or meet any particular distributor’s requirements. You can hear the result before you spend anything, which is the point of the free tier.
03Your account
You are responsible for your login and for what happens under your account. Use a password you do not use anywhere else. Tell us promptly at edoublemusic@icloud.com if you think someone else has access.
One account per person. Creating extra accounts to repeat the free tier is a breach of these terms - see Acceptable use.
04The free tier
Five free masters every month, for any account. They are 128 kbps MP3 previews, on purpose.
Every account gets 5 free masters per calendar month. The count resets on the 1st, in UTC, whether you used all five or none - unused ones do not roll over and nothing is banked. Free masters are delivered as 128 kbps MP3 at 44.1 kHz. The limit is enforced on our servers, so it is the same for everyone.
You need an account for this. It is free to make one, and it is what the count is attached to.
The free tier exists so you can hear exactly what our engine does to your music before paying. It is a preview format, not a release format. We can change the number of free masters, but not retroactively: if we ever reduce it, the month you are in finishes on the old terms.
05Paid plans and credits
Credits are per song and never expire. Unlimited is a subscription that renews until you cancel.
We sell two things:
| Plan | Price | You get |
|---|---|---|
| Single | $1.99 | 1 credit, one song |
| EP | $4.99 | 6 credits |
| Album | $9.99 | 15 credits |
| Unlimited monthly | $9.99/mo | unlimited masters while active |
| Unlimited yearly | $83.88/yr | unlimited masters while active |
Credits: one credit is consumed per master you export. Purchased credits do not expire and are not transferable between accounts. They have no cash value and cannot be redeemed for money except as set out in our Refund Policy.
Unlimited: billed in advance each period and renews automatically until cancelled. Prices are in US dollars and exclude any tax that may apply where you live.
We may change prices. A change never affects credits you have already bought, and for an active subscription it takes effect at your next renewal, with notice by email beforehand.
06Cancelling
Email us and we cancel it. There is no self-serve cancel button yet - we would rather say so than pretend.
To cancel an Unlimited subscription, email edoublemusic@icloud.com from the address on your account and we will cancel it. You keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for.
Being straight with you
There is currently no cancel button inside the app. A self-serve billing portal is planned, and until it exists, email is the way - we answer, and we do not make you chase it.
07Your music stays yours
We claim no ownership of your audio. We do not train on it, sell it, or release it.
You keep every right in the audio you upload and in the masters we produce from it. We claim no ownership and take no share of your earnings.
You grant us only the narrow, temporary licence we need to actually run the service: to store, process and transmit your files in order to produce your master and deliver it to you. That licence ends when your files are deleted, which today happens when you ask us (see the Privacy Policy).
We do not use your music to train machine-learning models, do not license it to anyone, and do not publish it.
You are responsible for having the rights to what you upload. See our Copyright policy.
08Our software stays ours
The site, the mastering engine, the processing chains and the interface are ours and are protected by copyright. You may not copy, resell, reverse-engineer or attempt to extract the engine or its models, or use the service to build a competing product.
09Acceptable use
Do not:
- upload audio you do not have the rights to
- create multiple accounts to repeat the free tier
- resell access, or share one account across a team or a business
- attack, overload, scrape or probe the service, or bypass any limit in it
- upload anything unlawful
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules. If we close a paid account for a breach, we will refund unused credits unless the breach caused us loss.
10Availability
We are a small operation. We do not promise perfect uptime, and we will not pretend otherwise.
The service is provided as-is. We do not offer an uptime guarantee or a service-level agreement. We may change, pause or discontinue features.
If we discontinue the service entirely, we will give reasonable notice by email and refund unused credits and any prepaid subscription time.
11Liability
If something goes wrong, what you can recover is capped at roughly what you paid us.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, including lost profits, lost opportunities, or loss of data.
Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $50.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for fraud. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Keep your own backups. We are not a storage service and should never be the only place a file of yours exists.
12Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change materially affects your rights we will email account holders before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new version. The effective date at the top always tells you which version is current.
13Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be heard in the state or federal courts located in California, and we each consent to that jurisdiction.
If any part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
